Job Overview

McCoy's Building Supply is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Yard Crewmember/Forklift Operator to join our team. As a key member of our lumberyard operations, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating a forklift, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet customers as they enter the yard, respond to their questions, and provide assistance with product selection.
  • Material Handling: Load and unload products into customers', vendors', and company vehicles safely and accurately.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, restock products, and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Forklift Operations: Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, performing routine safety checks and maintaining a clean and well-maintained vehicle.
  • Store Support: Assist with general store duties, including cleaning, maintenance, and organization of the lumberyard and warehouses.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certifications: Forklift operator certification required.
  • Skills: Ability to work independently, excellent communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of standing, moving, and lifting up to 80 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Warehouse and lumberyard settings, with exposure to various types of weather.
  • Work Schedule: May require overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
