Job Description Summary

The Advanced Lead Design Engineer position is a mid-career 'hardware owning' engineer reporting to an Engineering Manager within the Aerospace Engineering Division's Production Technologies team. As a hardware owner, you will own all engineering functions related to the production of assigned Commercial and Aero-derivative High pressure Turbine Airfoils.

Key responsibilities include executing design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects, collaborating with engineers from multiple disciplines, and promoting open and honest dialogue. You will also be responsible for executing engineering analysis and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles to improve manufacturability and technical robustness of assigned components.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects, adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  2. Collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines, including manufacturing and quality, to promote open and honest dialogue.
  3. Execute engineering analysis and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles to improve manufacturability and technical robustness of assigned components.
  4. Lead technical projects with low to moderate complexity through collaboration with field and industry experts.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.

Desired Characteristics

  1. Previous experience in design of aviation components.
  2. Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams.
  3. Established project management skills.
