Job Role:
As a key member of the LD Training Services team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily financial operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Financial Management: Supervising the preparation of monthly and yearly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Financial Analysis: Collaborating with various departments to analyze financial data, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance profitability.
- Financial Planning: Preparing and implementing financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
- Financial Reporting: Preparing and submitting financial reports to stakeholders, including management accounts, statutory accounts, and tax returns.
- Financial Compliance: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, laws, and standards, including HMRC, EU, and UK local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of accounts receivable and accounts payable, including performing accounting closeout procedures on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Submission of partial exemption of the quarterly VAT returns.
- Assessment of accounting systems, development of policies and procedures, and recommendations for improvements.
- Preparation of statutory accounts in compliance with FRS102.
- Computing and preparing Corporation Tax returns.
- Preparing Self-assessment tax returns.
- Familiarization with the online banking platform system and authorization of month-end BACS payment runs.
- Keeping up-to-date information on contract renewals and documentations.
- Interpretation, communication, and effective presentation of financial data and implications of business decisions to non-financial managers.
- Collaboration with other senior management team members and the board to formulate, implement, and monitor strategic plans, including business expansion and succession planning.
- Attendance at networking events and proactive identification and progression of business development opportunities.
- Ensuring proper documentation and compliance with HMRC, EU, UK local regulations, and tax legislation.
- Month-end close activities, including manual journal entries and reconciling and maintaining balance sheet accounts.
- Preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments, and accounting entries.
- Provision of monthly management accounts report to the governing board and finance committee.
- Provision of expert compliance, tax, and management accountancy advice.
- Provision of all accounting and financial reports and documents needed by the company's external auditors and collaboration with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
- Year-end closings and various other accounts duties.
- Collaborative working with the finance department to ensure accurate data provision.
- Rollover of the year-end processes on Sage for LD Training Services.
- Ensuring accuracy throughout the accounts records.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of different accounting best practices, laws, standards, regulations, and corporate finance principles.
- Experience of using different accounting software, including Sage 50 professional.
- Strong working knowledge of corporation tax.
- Experience in forecast development, scenario modeling, and strategic analysis.
- Superior data analysis and data management skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications:
- Ideally qualified in ACCA or CIMA or other relevant financial/accounting qualification.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No more than 22.5 per week
