Respite Nurse RGN Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Respite Nurse RGN to join our team at Nurse Seekers. As a Respite Nurse, you will provide top-notch care and support for children with life-limiting, life-threatening, or severe disabilities and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Nursing and Family Care: Actively encourage a family atmosphere and contribute positively towards the maintenance of a child and family-focused environment.
  • Medication Administration: Ensure all medication is accurately and safely administered, recorded, and stored.
  • Child Care: Give total care to the child during the agreed period of respite.
  • Professional Development: Identify and work within your own professional competence and expertise, adhering to the NMC Code of Conduct, and take advantage of training opportunities to further develop your skills and expertise.
  • Registration and Communication: Maintain professional registration with the NMC and liaise closely with all professionals and volunteers working with the child and family to ensure a seamless service.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Attend staff meetings and team briefings, participate in other meetings as appropriate, and take responsibility for using the appropriate channels to ensure good communication is maintained within the Organisation.
