Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician to join our team at Cooper Lomaz. As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the Electrical Chargehand in the electrical assembly of control boxes and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assembly of control boxes and machinery, including reading mechanical layout drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Use factory tools, such as disc cutters, pillar drills, and DIN cutters, to lay out and assemble back-plates and enclosures.
  • Install SY, CY, and YY cable on machinery and assemble multipin plug socket assemblies.
  • Manufacture flying leads for machinery and provide electrical assembly support and advice to in-house manufacture and project engineers.
  • Perform general quality control and improvement tasks, including keeping your workbench tidy and up to date.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an electrical role is required.
  • Electrical qualifications and knowledge, including the 18th Edition, would be an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills are essential.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment and experience manufacturing control panels and assemblies are desirable.
  • Broad general knowledge of electrical components and own tools, such as wire strippers and crimpers, are required.
