Job Title: Senior Engineering Project Manager
Location: We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
Salary: Up to £75,000 depending on skills and experience
Job Summary:
- Develop and maintain an engineering development strategy for the project using incremental and agile development principles.
- Create a supportive and collaborative team environment, including people management responsibilities.
- Owning the engineering budgets, ensuring adherence to the schedule and quality of the product designed, ensuring it is fit for purpose and compliant with customer requirements.
- Assess engineering risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain the Engineering Management Plan describing all aspects of engineering work for the programme, including programme tailoring.
- Support the development of subcontracted items, developing and implementing a collaborative strategy to ensure their success.
- Owning the 'Design Fors' with a focus on design for Life, including manufacturing, testing, reliability, and maintainability.
- Facilitate and make technical decisions for the project, identifying and trading the various factors involved.
- Utilise Maturity Management to validate the correctness of work being produced by the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in at least one key Engineering discipline, ideally having performed a cross-functional team leading role.
- Technical knowledge within Electronic Systems, Avionics, Rail, Medical, or Automotive industries.
- Manage the costs for the engineering work within the allocated budget.
- Degree qualified in Engineering.
- Experience articulating engineering strategy and motivating teams.
- Manage and mitigate risks utilising specific techniques for engineering projects.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
