About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highways Inspector to join our team at Ringway Jacobs. As a key member of our highways service provider, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and sustainable management of our road network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine inspections of the public highway to identify defects and ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Provide practical advice and solutions to problems, ensuring tasks are followed through and loose ends are tied up.
  • Build strong partnerships with contractors, Members, and the public through excellent communication skills.
  • Identify sites of accident claims, check works history and specification for safety compliance, and prepare documentation for court hearings.

Requirements

  • Education to RQF Level 3 (A Level) or equivalent by experience.
  • City and Guilds qualification relevant to highway engineering or ONC or equivalent, desirable.
  • Knowledge of Highway Authority and Local Government policies, practices, and procedures in relation to highways maintenance.
