We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner to join our team as a Team Leader. As a key member of our peri-operative care team, you will be responsible for the safe and effective management of the service, including the management of staff, facilities, and associated systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Assist and support the Clinical Manager in the safe and effective management of the service, including the management of staff, facilities, and associated systems and processes.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care.
- Role Modelling: Act as a role model presenting a positive image of self, the team, and the organisation.
- Care Delivery and Coordination: Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, making optimal use of operating sessions. Identify potential bottlenecks and facilitate smooth patient flow through the department.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure a high standard of service delivery is met by self and others based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care to meet patients' needs in accordance with agreed local and National standards and evidence-based guidelines.
- Standards and Risk Management: Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care. Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Patient Education and Health Promotion: Promote provision of patient education and health promotion.
- Equality and Diversity: Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting, and meeting the needs and choices of individuals.
- Environment of Care: Ensure the environment of care is safe, well equipped, and compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness.
- Education and Training: Participate in education and training of junior staff encouraging professional growth and development.
- Professional Development: Maintain and develop own professional competence and seek to extend the scope of personal knowledge and skills within scope of role and professional practice.
- Competence in Anaesthetic Practice: Demonstrate and maintain competence in anaesthetic practice (ODP's).
