Job Summary

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the build out of facility-specific infrastructure, managing shift technicians, and ensuring the availability of mechanical and electrical services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Infrastructure Development: Oversee the build out of facility-specific infrastructure in existing locations, ensuring compliance with AWS practices and procedures.
  2. Team Management: Responsible for the onsite management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with AWS standards.
  3. System Availability: Has primary responsibility for engineering systems availability in both leased and colocated facilities, conducting regular maintenance and risk assessments.
  4. Financial Analysis: Conducts financial analysis and contributes to financial decisions, ensuring the optimal use of resources.
  5. Team Development: Manages and develops teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise to ensure the highest levels of performance.
  6. Project Management: Conducts project management for multiple sites, using business knowledge to set priorities and develop project plans.
  7. Critical System Management: Operates and manages routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
Requirements


• Degree in engineering or technical field or equivalent

• 8+ years of people management experience

• 5+ years of experience building strong, successful engineering technical teams

• 3+ years of relevant engineering operation experience managing large-scale services

• Very good command of English

Preferred Qualifications


• University degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or relevant discipline or equivalent training

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience managing large-scale services

• 8+ years of experience building strong, successful engineering technical teams

• Data center engineering management
