Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Gov Facility Services Ltd (GFSL). As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our facilities, including HMP Wandsworth.
Key Responsibilities- Work alongside experienced colleagues to maintain and repair mechanical systems, including plumbing and heating.
- Ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Team to identify and resolve issues.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues.
- Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
- Familiarity with and ability to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems.
- Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
- Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
