- Serve as the primary contact for the team, clients, HMRC, and other professional advisors on a daily basis.
- Manage all facets of audit and accounts assignments, including:
- Project planning
- Financial forecasting
- Time allocation
- Delegating tasks and overseeing team performance
- Monitoring team progress and managing project timelines
- Conducting thorough file reviews and providing feedback to the team
- Reviewing corporate tax calculations and collaborating with Tax Specialists
- Finalizing files for Partner review, including corporation tax calculations
- Submitting documents to HMRC and Companies House
- Advocate for the firm’s interests with all employees, clients, potential clients, and external parties.
- Inspire and motivate the team, offering timely and constructive feedback.
- Guide and mentor trainees throughout their training contracts, providing support as needed.
- Assist in motivating and supervising staff, particularly trainees.
- Help staff find suitable assignments to ensure their engagement and development, ensuring all team members are debriefed post-project.
- Contribute to in-house training initiatives.
- Provide upward feedback to enhance team performance.
- Participate in client events or seminars as needed.
- Identify opportunities for account development with clients and collaborate with partners to pursue these.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of pitches for new clients.
- Propose innovative solutions to enhance existing systems related to client or staff matters.
- Support billing processes.
- Assist in debt recovery efforts in coordination with the client partner.
- Possess a relevant Accounting Qualification such as ACA or ACCA or an equivalent international qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in managing both personnel and a client portfolio.
- Current portfolio should consist of at least 40% audit-related work.
- Strong understanding of corporate taxation.
- High familiarity with UK auditing and accounting standards.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to articulate and apply technical knowledge effectively.
- Experience in auditing sectors such as Professional Services or Real Estate & Construction.
- Proficient in both substantive and controls-based audits, group reporting, and cross-border groups.
- Expertise in delivering primary accounting frameworks (UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102, and IFRS).
- Commitment to exceptional client care and service.
- Dedication to continuous professional development and maintaining technical proficiency.
- Able to provide constructive feedback effectively.
- Strong time management and deadline adherence skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
