Job Summary:

We are seeking an innovative Maintenance Engineer Manager to join our team and ensure the delivery of quality products on time. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a small team of mixed skills, maintaining control processes, writing reports, diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, and providing training and support to the engineering team.

Purpose of the Maintenance Engineer Role:

To ensure the availability of operational assets through the successful delivery of a Total Productive Maintenance schedule and effective response to unplanned maintenance issues, minimizing production downtime and maintaining health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and deliver against a planned preventative maintenance schedule to minimize the chance of machine breakdown.
  • Repair or resolve machine issues in a timely manner to keep loss of production to a minimum.
  • Manage consignment stock and order necessary parts required for repair and maintenance of machines to ensure repairs are completed as quickly as possible.
  • Keep accurate records of all machine breakdowns and produce reports for Engineering KPIs.
  • Assist in factory improvement and project work to ensure services and facilities are installed correctly.
  • Carry out necessary facility work.
  • Host and ensure contractors are site-inducted and have approved RAMS.

Requirements:

  • Served a recognized apprenticeship and attained an appropriate electrical/mechanical qualification (City and Guilds, NVQ level 3 mechanical engineering).
  • Able to demonstrate success in maintaining and repairing Electrical and/or Mechanical equipment, preferably in extrusion / T-dies / rollers / chillers.
  • Flexible communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions.
  • PC literate (Microsoft Office packages).
  • Ability to interpret drawings, manuals, and technical literature to fault-find.
  • Ability and willingness to respond flexibly to working hours in time-critical situations.
