Deputy Support Manager

Job Summary
The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Support Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management structure, you will play a vital role in supporting the Division of Medicine & Therapies in achieving our strategic objectives.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide operational management support to the Directorate, working closely with the Directorate Manager, Directorate Support Manager, Clinical Director, and Matrons.
- Assist in ensuring that the operational performance of the Directorate meets agreed Trust and Divisional objectives.
- Monitor performance against activity targets and other service objectives.
- Contribute to the identification of cost pressures and assist in delivering cost savings and service efficiencies.
- Review equipment needs and develop supporting rationales for bids for new and replacement equipment.
- Ensure complaints and incidents are investigated in line with the Trust's complaint policy.
- Ensure accurate coding systems and processes are in place within the Directorate.
- Undertake project work as directed by the Directorate Support Manager.
- Ensure the Trust's Infection Control policy is fully enforced.
Person Specification
- Knowledge of NHS management issues, national agendas, and initiatives.
- Knowledge of patient management issues, patient flow processes, and risk management issues.
- Knowledge of the clinical governance agenda.
- Qualifications in admin/business management policies, procedures, and practices.
- Previous NHS management experience, including managing staff, projects, complaints, and budgets.
- Experience of leading and achieving change in a complex environment.
- Ability to build, develop, and motivate an effective team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines.
