Senior Engineer – GCP (Identity Management)

Role Summary:

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Senior Engineer to become a vital part of our team, concentrating on the development and upkeep of Cloud Identity solutions. Your expertise will be essential in architecting, executing, and enhancing systems that facilitate secure and efficient user authentication across diverse platforms and applications.

In this senior role, you will work in close collaboration with various teams to grasp requirements, design solutions, and guarantee smooth integration with current systems and workflows. This position demands a robust technical understanding of GCP services, coupled with exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and deploy essential features of Google's Identity platform.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, security) to comprehend user requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
  • Integrate Google's identity solutions with multiple external identity providers (IdPs) and relying parties (RPs) utilizing industry standards such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth.
  • Create resilient and scalable systems capable of managing high volumes of authentication requests while maintaining security and performance.
  • Implement robust security protocols to safeguard user information and avert unauthorized access.
  • Participate actively in code evaluations, identify potential challenges, and propose enhancements.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in identity management protocols and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the formulation and documentation of technical specifications and design choices.
  • Diagnose technical challenges, perform root cause analysis, and execute prompt solutions to minimize service interruptions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in software engineering with an emphasis on backend development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GCP services, architecture, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and constructing secure and scalable distributed systems.
  • Thorough understanding of identity management protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth) and their applications.
  • Familiarity with Google Identity and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of security principles and best practices (e.g., secure coding, threat modeling).
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Google Cloud certifications such as Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Data Engineer.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Knowledge of alternative cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
