We are seeking an experienced actuarial analyst to join our Actuarial Technical Team, based in Glasgow, Edinburgh, or London. This role involves checking actuarial calculations, communicating results, and contributing to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:- Liaise with technical team members and client teams to scope work and check data processing, calculation, and statutory reporting.
- Review scheme information, including benefit summaries and previous valuation data.
- Use bespoke valuation systems to check actuarial valuations and run individual and global checks.
- Work on ad-hoc projects to improve efficiency and develop processes.
- Develop junior team members' actuarial knowledge and skillsets.
- Maintain knowledge on relevant industry changes.
- Travel to other offices on an occasional basis.
- Proven defined benefit actuarial experience.
- Support for IFoA examinations available.
- Good/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of legislative framework and structure of defined benefit pension schemes.
- Technical ability to follow and develop processes.
- Active team player with effective communication skills.
- Keenness to enhance and refine processes.
- Accurate and organised.
- Ability to monitor, prioritise, and deliver own workload.
- Proactive in raising conflicting demands on time and adaptable in these situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Logical thinker.
- Ability to support and train junior team members.
