About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Support Worker to join our team at Peabody. As a key member of our Young Persons Project in Hertford, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable young people who are experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with our young customers to help them achieve their goals and overcome complex challenges.
  • Work closely with a team of dedicated colleagues to provide a comprehensive support service, including weekly meetings and progress monitoring.
  • Help young people access housing and other essential services, ensuring they have the support they need to live independently.
  • Identify and address signs of concern, working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure the well-being of our customers.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with teenagers or young adults, ideally in a support or social care role.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed principles, with the ability to apply this in a practical setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of our customers.
