Job Title: Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Controller to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of 2 Finance Assistants and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the UK finance function.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in supervising a team and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and FRS 102. They will also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and trends to provide meaningful insights to drive business decision making.

The role will be based at our UK office in South Cerney, Gloucestershire, and will report to the Group Financial Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Month end and year end close process for the main UK trading entity, ProLabs (UK) Ltd
  • Leading on accounting operations and processes, ensuring robust financial systems and procedures are in place and adhered to
  • Leading the audit of UK statutory accounts and financial statements production, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and FRS 102
  • Monitoring departmental spend monthly to help control costs versus budget
  • Preparing EMEA budgets and forecasts, and producing actual to budget variance analysis on a monthly basis
  • Preparing information for UK corporation tax returns, and assisting in preparing forecasts for quarterly tax payments, where necessary
  • Adhering to Amphenol Corporate policies, as well as monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
  • Reviewing monthly payroll and coordinating with the HR Manager, through to payment of salaries and employer-related tax to HMRC
  • Annual submission of payroll returns; reviewing P35, P11D, PSA and other submissions
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly payment runs

Additional Group Reporting Tasks:

  • Monthly second review of monthly payroll
  • Ad hoc reporting, which may involve undertaking due diligence assignments

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (preferably ACA/ACCA)
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel
  • Self-motivated
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Maintain a professional and polite disposition at all times
