The Opportunity

As a Financial Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function in the completion of month-end reporting, regulatory reporting, and ensuring continuous improvement in the control environment. You will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of best-in-class processes and controls within the Finance Team and the Finance Function Manual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of month-end process across the team and ownership of key processes, including payroll, cash control, and the production of the month-end report.
  • Completion of FCA regulatory reporting and oversight of investment firms.
  • Maintenance of the integrity and accuracy of the balance sheet, including preparation and review of monthly reconciliations.
  • Challenge and understanding of complaints provision to report on this while ensuring it meets accounting standards.
  • Identification of key processes and controls in Finance and working with relevant teams to remedy and improve process and control deficiencies.
  • Maintenance and ownership of the Finance Function Manual and Finance Operating Procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose, complete, and continuously improved.
  • Operational management of the Treasury function and banking systems, with support and direction from the Head of Financial Reporting and Control.
  • Oversight and support of the cash forecast model, with ongoing development.
  • Ownership of the Finance system, identifying improvements for controls, managing upgrades, and new reporting requirements.
  • Attendance at the Debt committee, providing updates on the provision and analysis of the movement.
  • Support for the year-end audit and responsibility for delivery of own and direct reports' audit requests.
  • Management and mentoring of the team to support and encourage their development.
  • Support for the Financial Reporting and Controls Team and the wider Finance team on ad-hoc work, including projects.

    The Benefits

    • Salary: £47,000 to £67,000
    • Bonus scheme: on-target bonus - 10%
    • Pension scheme: contribute up to 5% of your salary, and Openwork will match you and put in an extra 5%

      What You'll Need to Succeed

      • Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant or can demonstrate substantial, relevant experience across Finance
      • Experience of working in a financial accounting role within a large organization
      • Involvement and delivery of month-end reporting, providing analysis and insight of the results
      • Deadline and task-oriented
      • Strong communication skills at all levels
      • Knowledge of Financial Services would be advantageous
