Job Title: Apprenticeship Training Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Apprenticeship Training Manager. This role will play a critical part in the development and operational delivery of our City Housing Workforce Strategy, focusing on the uplift and empowerment of our workforce to deliver exceptional, customer-focused housing services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and implementation of the City Housing Workforce Strategy, aligning training needs with the council's strategic objectives, sector regulations, and operational requirements.
  • Develop and provide learning and development solutions, advice, and guidance to enhance managerial and employee performance across the housing services.
  • Manage online learning platforms and innovate digital solutions, utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS) effectively to develop skillsets within our workforce and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Understand workforce competences and undertake detailed learning and training needs analyses to tailor programmes that address diverse learning styles and support the council's strategic outcomes.
  • Develop and support the execution of talent development programs, including mentoring, succession planning, leadership development, and apprenticeship programs.
  • Act as a steward for diversity and inclusion, embedding these principles in all activities and promoting the council's core values and behaviours.
Requirements:
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to critique, challenge, and use evidence to drive decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitating, coaching, and influencing skills to train, guide, and advise colleagues across the organisation.
  • Able to work independently using one's own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
