About the Role

CNC Machining Team Leader

Leidos is seeking an experienced CNC Machining Team Leader to lead a small shift team in machining jigs and fixtures for prototype and batch manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of CNC setter/operators in managing their workload and ensuring manufacturing is completed in line with quality standards.
  • Ensure the team achieves production targets and deadlines, and that component inspection is carried out to the highest standard.
  • Develop and implement efficient CNC scheduling, methods, and setups to ensure safe and cost-efficient production of components.
  • Supervise the completion of job record sheets, timecards, and inspection sheets, and ensure that setters/operators are working efficiently when the machine is running.

Requirements

  • Ideally apprentice trained or qualified through experience.
  • Proven experience of operating 3 and 4 axis CNC Machining, Milling, and Lathe machinery.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced engineering environment and able to read engineering drawings, set CNC machines, and use measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work using metric and imperial measurements and good understanding of fine engineering tolerances and quality inspection requirements.
  • Due to the nature of our business, you will need to pass and maintain a BPSS security check.
