CNC Machining Team Leader Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machining Team Leader to join our team at Leidos. As a CNC Machining Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a small shift team in machining jigs and fixtures for prototype and batch manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of CNC setters/operators in managing their workload and ensuring manufacturing is completed in line with our Quality Brief and products adhere to Quality Management standards (ISO9001, ISO14001 and Q1)
  • Ensure the team achieves production targets and deadlines, and complete Inspection and Daily sheets
  • Read, interpret, and work to drawings supplied, and ensure component inspection is carried out
  • Prepare cutting tools and produce Jigs, fixtures, and tooling methods to ensure safe, cost-efficient production of components

About You:

  • Ideally apprentice trained or qualified through experience
  • Proven experience of operating 3 and 4 axis CNC Machining, Milling and Lathe machinery (ideally Fanuc or Siemens controlled)
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, engineering environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, set CNC machines, and use measuring equipment
  • Ability to work using Metric and Imperial measurements
  • Good understanding of fine engineering tolerances and quality inspections requirements
