Wakefield Council's Visual Impairment (VI) Team is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to provide exceptional support to visually impaired students within our secondary resource provision at Crofton Academy.
The VI Team focuses on empowering children with vision impairments from birth through secondary school and beyond, including those with complex needs.
Your Role:
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment to create a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Contribute to the academic progress and personal development of visually impaired pupils.
- Utilize strong communication skills to interact with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Employ problem-solving abilities and initiative to address challenges effectively.
- Maintain a positive and optimistic outlook while fostering a sense of humor within the classroom.
Experience is Valued, but Not Essential: While prior experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly visual impairment, is advantageous, comprehensive training will be provided to the right candidate.
