About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team at Illumina. As a key member of our Bioinformatics & DRAGEN HW SW department, you will be responsible for developing algorithms for analysis of various data types and platforms for translational research and clinical applications.

Our team is responsible for defining and creating software and workflows for efficient analysis of genetic and epigenetic data, integrating community tools as well as developing novel methods and best-in-class algorithms to be deployed both locally and on Illumina's cloud computing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement algorithms for analysis of genetic and epigenetic data.
  • Apply statistical and machine learning methods to analyze large-scale data sets.
  • Design and develop software to address novel analytical challenges and to automate established analysis.
Requirements
  • PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning or a related field.
  • Background in algorithm development, statistical modeling, and software development.
  • Experience with Python and/or R programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of bioinformatics algorithms and statistical methods.
