Illumina is a global leader in genomic technology, and we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team in Cambridge. As a key member of our bioinformatics team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing cutting-edge bioinformatics solutions that drive innovation and impact human health.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned bioinformatics professional with a strong background in next-generation sequencing technologies, data analysis, and visualization. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting our cross-functional programs, including:

  • Defining bioinformatics milestones and requirements
  • Leading data analysis activities
  • Developing novel tools and pipelines
  • Contributing to project strategy

As a senior member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make substantial contributions, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and drive business growth through your expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Representing bioinformatics in R&D projects across multiple sites
  • Leading the data quality and bioinformatics function in a product development team
  • Contributing to the design and development of automated testing infrastructure and pipelines
  • Contributing to the planning and execution of a comprehensive strategy for assessing quality of data from novel technologies
  • Leading the analysis, integration, modeling, and interpretation of experimental data
