Key Responsibilities- Provide confidential therapeutic face-to-face counselling to individuals, couples, and families experiencing infertility-related difficulties.
- Implement a range of specialist counselling interventions, drawing on different models based on an appropriate framework for the client's problems.
- Provide implications counselling to individuals and couples considering or wishing to donate or receive gametes.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to promote the informed consent of patients and educate staff about changes in legislation and best practice.
- Develop and maintain effective communication within the team and the Trust, ensuring seamless delivery of counselling services.
- Attend ethics committee meetings and contribute to ethical decision-making.
- Participate in clinical audit within the multidisciplinary team.
- Postgraduate qualification in Counselling or a related field.
- Experience in providing specialist counselling services to individuals and couples experiencing infertility-related difficulties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework and the HFEA Code of Practice.
- Commitment to ongoing clinical professional development and staying up-to-date with relevant national legislation and local policy standards.
