Speech & Language Therapist, Band 5 (2 Posts)

Full-time (37 hours per week) Permanent

Part-time (22 hours per week) Permanent

You will work within the Children's Speech and Language Therapy service to support children with a wide range of speech, language, and communication difficulties, including those with formal Additional Support for Learning plans. You will be based in a dynamic team, working flexibly across NHS Tayside in schools, community settings, and health settings. You must be willing to travel between multiple sites.

You will bring expertise in working with young children and a deep understanding of disability and how to support children with additional needs and their families. You will also be working in universal and targeted models to support attainment in nurseries and schools. The work is diverse and includes joint work with partners in other agencies. You will join a supportive team where professional development is encouraged and valued. All newly qualified therapists are supported to complete the Flying Start programme.

You must be registered on the HCPC Register

NHS Scotland is committed to providing a healthy work-life balance for all employees. We are reducing our full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with speech, language, and communication difficulties

  • Develop and implement targeted models to support attainment in nurseries and schools
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to families and carers
  • Contribute to the development of the Children's Speech and Language Therapy service
