Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom SPT Labtech Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at SPT Labtech. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective manufacture of our products, which are used in the Life Sciences sector to make a difference in human health and push the boundaries of Science.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on complex products, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support the manufacture and supply of a wide range of consumables, including nanolitre pipettes, syringes, and cryo-EM grids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to resolve product technical and production issues.
  • Be the first point of contact for consumables supply and manufacturing teams, resolving day-to-day queries or escalating issues as required.
  • Implement good manufacturing practices on precision products with a large degree of autonomy.
  • Utilise Continuous Improvement tools (Root Cause Counter Measure, Six Sigma, SPC) to contribute to CAPA and quality processes.
  • Engage with internal and external collaborators to evolve products from concept to manufacture.
  • Bring products from development to scalable manufacturing, from cradle-to-grave, with involvement from the product concept stage.
  • Apply change management skills to develop flexible, robust processes for ensuring product quality.
  • Take ownership of engineering changes to enhance quality, process capability, and cost efficiency.
About You

We are looking for a driven individual with a passion for delivering results in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to understand and interpret mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering drawings, and demonstrate practical problem-solving skills and team effectiveness.

You will have a good understanding of modern manufacturing processes and change management, and ideally 3+ years of manufacturing experience. An engineering or science degree (or equivalent) with relevant technical experience is also required.

Our Commitment to You

We offer a competitive salary package and comprehensive, valued benefits, including private medical insurance, a generous pension plan, and an annual discretionary bonus.

We embrace diversity and inclusivity, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, or family status. We prioritise supporting our employees' diverse needs as we strive for excellence together.
