Job Overview

SearchTech is seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our renewable energy division, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of large-scale grid-connected solar and energy storage projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination: Act as a key contact for projects, managing input from multidisciplinary teams, including property, planning, grid, technical, legal, and commercial teams.
  • Development Project Management: Proactively manage development projects against clearly defined timescales and milestones.
  • Planning and Stakeholder Management: Lead the planning aspects of projects, coordinating external consultants and managing community engagement.
  • Stakeholder Identification and Management: Identify and manage all key stakeholders in a project, including in a stakeholder management plan.
  • Reporting and Budget Management: Prepare weekly status updates, reporting progress and detailing risks and mitigation strategies. Set and monitor project budgets, ensuring spending aligns with forecasts and regularly reporting on progress and variations.
  • Team Leadership: Line manage a graduate planner, focusing on site finding and evaluation.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and Experience: Proven post-qualification experience with a degree in a planning-related discipline and eligibility for membership in an accredited professional institute (RTPI or MRTPI or equivalent).
  • Communication and Liaison: Ability to liaise with internal and external teams, developing productive relationships to secure necessary approvals.
  • Renewable Energy Project Development: Experience managing renewable energy projects through the entire development cycle, understanding key issues, and negotiating viable solutions.
  • Problem-Solving and Influence: Capability to identify potential obstacles to delivery and influence key decision-makers to ensure timely project completion.
  • Renewable Energy Project Development: Experience in renewable energy project development.
  • Resource Management: Effective resource management to deliver key outcomes.
  • Travel and Mobility: Full UK driving license and ability to travel frequently for site visits and meetings.
