About the Role

As a Shared Lives carer with Leeds City Council, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals who require support and care. This rewarding role involves providing a safe and nurturing environment for people with physical or sensory impairments, adults with learning disabilities, older people, and those experiencing mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional and practical support to individuals in their own homes or in a shared living setting.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Encourage independence and promote social inclusion through activities and outings.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as social workers and healthcare staff, to ensure the individual's needs are met.
Requirements
  • Be over 18 years old.
  • Have a spare bedroom in your home.
  • Be willing to undergo a detailed training programme.
  • Pass a DBS check and other necessary background checks.
