Position Title: Design Engineer - Materials

Job Type: Contract

Division: Design and Engineering

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer to join our team at Contechs. As a Materials Engineer - Surface Materials Specialist, you will be responsible for evolving surface materials and technologies across various vehicle programs to concept and application readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement surface materials and technologies to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with Materiality Designers, Suppliers, and the wider Bespoke team to ensure seamless integration.
  • Conduct feasibility studies on new and existing materials and manufacturing technologies.
  • Work with suppliers to re-engineer materials and resolve test failures.
  • Manage commodity developments and create timing plans to ensure project milestones are met.

Requirements:

  • Experience in color matching and material implementation in the automotive space.
  • Strong understanding of product design and aesthetic judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work at all levels.
  • Proficient in creating timing plans and managing commodity developments.
  • Full driving license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automotive sector.
