About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Cast UK Limited. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and continuously improve products to meet specified requirements, ensuring they are manufactured efficiently and effectively.
  • Convert existing 2D CAD data into 3D Solid Edge format, utilizing advanced CAD systems and software.
  • Create accurate component and assembly drawings, utilizing CAD systems and software.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including creating Macros and using complex formulas, to analyze and optimize design processes.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering within active projects, ensuring cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Construct and evaluate prototypes for performance, ensuring they meet design specifications and manufacturing requirements.
Requirements
  • HND or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Experience in Manufacturing - Sheet metal or electrical preferred.
  • Strong and rigorous approach to design, with demonstrable experience in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA).
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Solid Edge, and Lantek CAM is desirable.
  • Understanding of Manufacturing processes, injection molding, and 3D printing is a plus.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronics theory is advantageous.
