About the Role

As a Sous Chef at Wagamama, you will be responsible for supporting the kitchen management team in overseeing all aspects of our back-of-house operation. You will embody our company values and people promise by ensuring the quality of our food, managing inventory, and various kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality of our food and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Manage inventory and kitchen operations to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and grow junior chefs, ensuring they are engaged, motivated, and meeting Wagamama standards.
  • Manage and motivate a team to meet high standards, with a focus on creating an inclusive environment where team members feel respected and valued.
  • Passionate about working with fresh food, with a focus on creating innovative and delicious dishes.

What We Look For

  • Experience managing or supervising a kitchen team and taking ownership in your role through positive behaviors and actions.
  • A strong communicator, with real conversations and consideration for your management team and kitchen staff.
  • Experienced in supporting to ensure your kitchen's food, health, and safety standards are spotless.
  • Aware of the financial performance of a kitchen, including GP and stock control.
  • Experienced in managing labor and rotas.
  • Passionate about creating an inclusive environment where your team feels respected and valued.
  • An individual who leads to inspire and engage their team to nourish and flourish in their role and career.
