About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Divisional Finance Analyst to join our team at FirstGroup plc. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Head of FP&A and ensuring the robust financial management and control of First Rail Holdings, Mistral & EvoRail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate and consolidate management and financial accounting outputs, KPIs, milestones, cash flows, and balance sheets.
  • Consolidate financial results and plans from First Rail Entities in SAP BPC and submit to Group Finance's consolidation tool (OneStream).
  • Manage intercompany posting reconciliations and coordinate Half Year and Full Year disclosures required by Group.
  • Post Central IFRS16 journals and other consolidation journals in SAP.
  • Support environment disclosure reporting by Group through data collation and reconciliation.
  • Ensure planning and reporting timetables and business process flows in BPC reflect required business planning and reporting outputs.
  • Support Head of FP&A and System Accountant in SAP BPC development and maintenance.
  • Deliver accurate and timely management accounting process for FRH, Mistral, and EvoRail.
  • Business partner Directors and business leads, providing financial analysis and guidance to enable key decisions.
  • Produce budget and quarterly forecast, working with budget holders to ensure clear FY projections.
  • Support business leads with affiliate work orders, ensuring services are contracted correctly.
  • Produce balance sheet reconciliation and manage key balance sheet accounts.
  • Raise sales orders for affiliate works orders in FRH, Mistral, and EvoRail for billing by FSS.
  • Process VAT, PAYE, NI submissions to Group or HMRC and manage payroll and payments runs.
  • Produce draft statutory accounts and close out audit queries.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent.
  • Part (working towards) or Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) or equivalent.
