Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our Commercial Consultancy team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on building surveying, cost management, and project management to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake building surveyor's inspections and prepare reports
  • Prepare specifications for, and administer, repair and refurbishment contracts
  • Prepare and negotiate schedules of dilapidations/preparing exit strategies
  • Prepare planned preventative maintenance plans
  • Undertake building reinstatement cost assessments
  • Assist with coordination of portfolio instructions and undertake other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required
  • Make sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offer a professional and excellent client service at all times

Requirements

  • Ability to work within a team and on own initiative
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated
  • Strong verbal and numerical skills, and comfortable with report writing
  • Excellent time management and general organizational skills
  • Flexible and able to work under pressure
  • Well-presented and excellent communication skills
  • MRICS (building surveying) with proven experience, preferably PQE in a commercial consultancy
  • Experience of AutoCAD an advantage
