About the Role

We are strengthening our Scottish commercial building surveying team with a position available in the Edinburgh office. As a building surveyor, you will work with a range of landlord/investor clients, including major institutions and corporate clients. Your role will involve undertaking building surveyor's inspections, preparing reports, and administering repair and refurbishment contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake building surveyor's inspections and prepare reports
  • Prepare specifications for, and administer, repair and refurbishment contracts
  • Prepare and negotiate schedules of dilapidations/preparing exit strategies
  • Prepare planned preventative maintenance plans
  • Undertake building reinstatement cost assessments
  • Assist with co-ordination of portfolio instructions and undertake other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required
  • Make sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offer a professional and excellent client service at all times

Requirements

  • Ability to work within a team and on own initiative
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated
  • Strong verbal and numerical skills, and comfortable with report writing
  • Excellent time management and general organisational skills
  • Flexible and able to work under pressure
  • Well-presented and excellent communication skills
  • MRICS (building surveying) with proven experience, preferably PQE in a commercial consultancy
  • Experience of AutoCAD an advantage
