About the Role

The Supported Lodgings Coordinator is a key position within Depaul UK, responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and development of the Supported Lodgings service in Cheshire West and Chester. This role requires a strong understanding of the needs of young people, particularly Care Leavers, and the ability to work collaboratively with hosts, statutory teams, and other agencies to provide a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs and risk of young people referred to the service, ensuring suitable risk management plans are in place for their safeguarding, matching, and placement with hosts.
  • Arrange all aspects of a young person's stay with a host, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported, taking into account their individual support needs.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the environment for young people and hosts through regular checks and reporting.
  • Work with young people, hosts, and other agencies to prepare them for independent living and access longer-term, appropriate accommodation using support plans.
  • Recruit, vet, and train hosts, ensuring that the host recruitment policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Proactively work in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council statutory teams and multiple agencies to support the wellbeing and ongoing housing needs of young Care Leavers.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience and an understanding of working with Care Leavers, young people experiencing homelessness, unaccompanied asylum seekers, or people in crisis. You will also need to have experience in supporting young people with their support needs, working closely with other key professionals. Additionally, you will need to have an understanding and commitment to working in an assets-based way, as well as a high-level understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
