Inverness, Highland, United Kingdom SSE Enterprise Full time
Role Overview

SSE Enterprise is seeking a skilled Construction Site Operations Manager with extensive experience in managing large-scale high voltage transmission projects.

In this role, you will serve as the primary representative of SSE Enterprise on-site, acting as the main point of contact for all site-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities will include overseeing earthworks, civil engineering, and building construction, as well as the installation of significant electrical infrastructure, including GIS and AIS substations, transformers, cables, and earthing systems.

You will ensure that all project activities comply with relevant regulations, including health and safety standards, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, and both quality and technical specifications.

You will work closely with contractors and the operations team to ensure that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project timeline.

It is essential to maintain compliance with planning permissions and SHE legislation, while also preparing and submitting detailed reports and KPIs to the Project Manager.

Building strong, positive relationships with contractors, suppliers, and the local community will be crucial, as you will lead by example and promote a collaborative safety culture on-site.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

- Extensive experience in site and construction management related to civil, mechanical, and electrical activities for HV substations or similar facilities.

- In-depth knowledge of engineering and construction standards, particularly safety and CDM regulations.

- Proven experience in managing complex construction projects in the utilities or electrical installation sectors. An HND in engineering or construction management (or equivalent) is highly desirable.

- Familiarity with NEC contract forms, including experience as an NEC Supervisor.

- Strong leadership skills in demanding environments, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities, along with excellent planning, organizational, and communication abilities.

A valid driving license is required for this role due to the necessity of site visits.
