About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing specialist occupational therapy services to patients affected by fetal exposure syndromes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of occupational therapists in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to patients with fetal exposure syndromes.
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy programs to support patients with sensory, social, physical, and cognitive difficulties.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and their families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies related to fetal exposure syndromes.
  • Provide education and training to staff on occupational therapy best practices and fetal exposure syndromes.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of occupational therapy and fetal exposure syndromes.
Requirements
  • Graduate Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Extensive post-graduate work experience in acute or community pediatric settings.
  • Advanced pediatric course and significant experience at senior level in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Active participation in research, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence change in practice and disseminate information to staff and patients.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge of acute and/or long-term pediatric occupational therapy.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • Clinical Educators course and experience at clinical team leader level.
  • Active membership in relevant specialist interest groups.
  • Experience in delivering a pediatric occupational therapy service and cross-boundary working.
