About the Role

Base Location: Flexible Scotland | We are committed to offering a flexible approach to work, and this role is no exception. However, your primary 'home' location must be one of our SSEN offices or depots in Scotland.

Salary: £42,000 - £71,600 + vehicle / vehicle allowance + performance-related bonus + a comprehensive benefits package to support your financial, wellbeing, and family needs.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible options available

The SSEN Transmission Offshore Development team is actively seeking an Interface Project Manager to report to the Interface Delivery Lead. This role will oversee the successful management of various interfaces related to the Eastern Green Link 3 Project. This significant initiative involves High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Converter Stations, associated civil engineering works, subsea cable installation, and AC connections. This project is part of a broader portfolio aimed at supporting Scotland's ambitions for achieving Net-Zero over the next decade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing activities between HVDC converter, HVDC cable, and civil contract scopes, including both onshore and offshore interface points, coordinating disciplines and workstreams as outlined in the approved organizational model and RACI matrix.
  • Take ownership of the interface management plan, maintain the RACI matrix, and establish procedures to ensure alignment across different contract Work Packages.
  • Identify issues that may impact costs or timelines, aiming to minimize or eliminate their effects while promoting clear, accurate, timely, and consistent communication with other contracts for the exchange of interface information and effective design milestone handover.
  • Support the assessment and reporting of risks related to interfaces and recommend business solutions for identifying risk reduction and mitigation measures through the KERIS risk management platform.
  • Facilitate project governance activities, progressing the project through the necessary governance framework requirements.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love for you to have:

  • Extensive experience in project development and delivery, with direct responsibility for managing design interfaces between multiple contractors and timely identification, analysis, and resolution of project risks related to costs and timelines.
  • An appropriate Engineering degree, Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it), and a solid understanding of health and safety legislation practices, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. A Project Management qualification would be advantageous.
  • Experience in the Transmission industry, construction, or utilities sector on major projects.
  • Ability to manage interfaces with design teams from contractors and SSEN Transmission, along with experience in reporting and managing the requirements associated with such roles.
  • An understanding of developing and managing integrated project contracts and programs, with knowledge of FIDIC contracts being beneficial.
