The Pharmacy Team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join their team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe dispensing of medications to patients.
Main Responsibilities- Assist in the management of the day-to-day operational organization of the dispensary, including the safe and timely dispensing of prescriptions.
- Undertake out-patient, discharge, and in-patient dispensing using the Pharmacy Computer System in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in the dispensing for clinical trials, completing relevant documentation in accordance with departmental procedures as required.
- Counsel patients and carers regarding their medication.
- Supervise the daily stock level and expiry checks, ensuring accurate stock rotation and reporting any discrepancies to the Deputy Chief Pharmacist Operational and Patient Services.
- Manage and coordinate stock ordering and requisitioning from the Pharmacy Store, communicating with pharmacists, pharmacy stores staff, and ward staff as required.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized work area.
- Maintain Accredited Checking Technician status and perform final accuracy checks of prescriptions in accordance with departmental protocols.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will possess:
- BTEC/NVQ Level 3 Certified Pharmacy Technician and Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) Certificate.
- Post-qualification hospital experience, with experience in supervision and staff training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a customer-focused approach.
