We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Trading Manager to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for driving a disciplined growth strategy, including portfolio steering and development of business acquisition channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure allocated business is in line with plan requirements for all Marine business written & renewed.
  • Deliver volume, quality, and profitability of growth opportunities to the Line of Business which enables them to hit their plan targets.
  • Build relationships with brokers and customers, internally and externally with travel, as necessary.
  • Performance and development of risks assigned to you and as per plan.
  • Case by case judgement required to ensure overall strategy and governance targets are complied with.
Requirements
  • Strong technical experience in underwriting and handling cargo and freight liability risks.
  • Proven record of underwriting a portfolio, including understanding the metrics required to monitor such a portfolio.
  • Well-regarded by brokers with the ability to build and maintain relationships along with strong pipelining & opportunity development skills.
  • Confident and articulate, comfortable engaging with brokers and undertaking negotiations.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively.
