Job Title: IT Category Lead

Fastmarkets is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Category Lead to join our team. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a category strategy for IT procurement, ensuring the best value for Fastmarkets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and build a category strategy, including developing procurement priorities that deliver sustainable benefits.
  • Work with key stakeholders to understand IT requirements and forecast future needs, focusing on cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Lead the engagement with suppliers to acquire technology, delivering the best value for Fastmarkets.
  • Manage all procurement activity from the Technology function, in accordance with the Procurement Policy and playbooks.
  • Provide support to the Technology Function in procurement policy and process, enabling self-service.
  • Ensure robust contracts are agreed with key suppliers and all suppliers.
Key Interfaces:

This role will work closely with the Procurement function and Technology function, as well as other business functions, including Finance, Legal, Risk & Compliance, and Information Security.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a talented and dynamic individual with a strong track record in category management, particularly in SaaS, managed service providers, cloud, Telecomms, data and voice, licensing, and hardware. Experience in relationship management and networking skills is also essential.

Key skills and knowledge include:

  • Strong knowledge of commercial models and approaches/techniques necessary to achieve great commercial outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IT category.
  • Good knowledge of contract drafting, with the ability to work with Legal colleagues.
  • Good negotiation, influencing skills.
  • Good communication skills to extract detail and evidence from colleagues and/or suppliers.
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable analyzing and interrogating data to support category plans.
  • Advanced level of PC literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite.
