Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and deliver exceptional lessons tailored to accommodate the varied needs of students in Year 5.
  • Develop engaging and differentiated instructional strategies that address the unique learning styles and capabilities of pupils with special educational needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student well-being, participation, and success.
  • Evaluate and track student progress, offering constructive feedback and establishing attainable objectives.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, support personnel, and external specialists to provide a unified educational experience.
  • Engage in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school activities.
  • Contribute to the broader school community and uphold the institution's ethos and values.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Education or a related discipline.
  • Experience teaching Year 5, ideally within a special educational needs context.
  • Strong comprehension of the national curriculum and relevant pedagogical approaches.
  • Excellent classroom management abilities and the capacity to cultivate a positive learning environment.
  • Empathy, patience, and a dedication to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Experience with various SEN provisions and methodologies.
  • Ability to utilize assistive technology and innovative teaching resources.
