About the Role

We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Aseptic Services team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. As an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist – Aseptic Services, you will play a key role in providing expert advice on pharmaceutical matters related to aseptic services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on pharmaceutical matters related to aseptic services
  • Work as an independent prescriber to optimize medicine regimes for patients
  • Collaborate with the Team Leader - Aseptic Services & Clinical Nutrition to develop and implement strategies for reducing medication misadventure
  • Deputize for the Pharmacy Team Lead - Aseptic Services and Clinical Nutrition as needed

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in Pharmacy / MPharm
  • Registration with the GPhC as a pharmacist
  • Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent

Desirable Qualifications

  • Registered as a non-medical prescriber
  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology & Quality Assurance or equivalent knowledge & expertise in the field

Essential Experience

  • Experience of working within Aseptic Services and/or preparation of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Relevant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy
  • Training of foundation year trainee pharmacists and clinical rotational staff

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in writing policies/guidelines
  • Project management and report writing
  • Management of staff
