Role Overview
Reporting to the Master, the Marine Technical Operator will be tasked with the upkeep and repair of all machinery and electrical systems onboard the vessel while fulfilling the duties of a GP Rating.
Key Responsibilities:
Familiarize yourself with the vessel's construction, machinery, and operational characteristics Conduct necessary checks prior to departure on a sea passage, ensuring the vessel is fully prepared for the journey, considering factors such as stability, stress, trim, and watertight integrity, while confirming sufficient fuel for the voyage, including reserves Notify the Master and Maintenance Superintendent of any deficiencies Perform regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces to maintain awareness of the condition and operational capability of all equipment Coordinate all transfers of fuel, lubricants, and fresh water Ensure all planned maintenance and both routine and emergency repairs are executed Collaborate with the Maintenance Superintendent to ensure all work is scheduled for minimal disruption to the vessel's overall program and maximum reliability and availability of the equipment Implement measures to prevent environmental pollution Maintain all engine room records as required by the Company and relevant authorities, ensuring they are completed accurately Provide and receive detailed handovers when joining or leaving the Company vessel Be well-versed in Company and Shipboard regulations and policies to perform functions efficiently and safely Familiarize yourself with all safety equipment onboard and participate in safety drills and training to uphold the highest operational standards Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Master Execute duties of GP Rating and RIB CoxswainRequired Qualifications and Experience:
