Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and suitably qualified Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Technical Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical direction and inputs to the electrical team, reviewing and approving engineering documents, and ensuring compliance with specification and functional integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and inputs to the electrical team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely completion of projects.
  • Review and approve engineering documents, including calculations, specifications, datasheets, and reports, to ensure compliance with specification and functional integrity.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Lead on project technical decisions, coordinating electrical activities with other engineering disciplines.
  • Attend internal and external project review meetings, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Monitor changes in scope of work and raise change notifications with Project Managers.
  • Input to project schedules and cost estimates, ensuring that all deliverables are aligned with company and client procedures.
  • Mentor junior team members and apprentices, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or relevant industry experience.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards.
  • Effective leadership skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interface and liaise with key client and internal stakeholders.
  • Significant, demonstrable experience in detailed design engineering.
  • Experience of carrying out cable sizing calculations using Amtech, Electrical, OM, or similar software.
  • Strong knowledge of HV systems (up to 11/33kV).
  • Experienced in electrical studies, including load studies, fault studies, and protection coordination using ETAP or similar software.
  • Familiar with ATEX requirements.
  • Earthing design experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Lighting design experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office applications.
