Nurse Specialist in Cancer Care

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated nurse to join our Cancer Team. As a Staff Nurse in Cancer Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality individualized nursing care to patients with cancer.
Main DutiesAs a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with cancer. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
You will spend time in our Chemotherapy Unit, where you will learn about the administration of chemotherapy and gain specialist knowledge in this area. You will also work with other cancer specialist services, including Clinical Nurse Specialists, ANPs, the Palliative Care Team, and the Acute Oncology Team.
Key Working RelationshipsYou will work closely with the following teams:
- Chemotherapy Unit
- Tumour site Multi-disciplinary teams/Clinical Nurse Specialists
- Acute Oncology Service
- Pharmacy
- Pathology
- Administration services
- Emergency services
We are looking for a nurse with:
- Experience post-registration in oncology/haematology or a passion for the specialist field
- Demonstrated awareness of current changes in the NHS, particularly related to nursing
- Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
Desirable criteria include:
- Oncology course (e.g. ENB 237 or Oncology/Haematology/Palliative/Chemotherapy course module or degree or diploma in relevant speciality)
