Job Title: Senior Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at the Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services). As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering occupationally focused mental healthcare to Armed Forces personnel across the region.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for common mental health disorders with an adult population/serving personnel
  • Provide clinical supervision to mental health nurses
  • Work alongside 3 BABCP accredited clinical psychologists at Principal and Consultant level, 4 highly skilled CBT therapists, as well as Consultant psychiatrists and mental health nurses
  • Co-ordinate complex care for a defined caseload, run group programmes, supervise colleagues, educate others, and develop services

Requirements:
  • Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) registration as an occupational therapist or practitioner psychologist or Social Work England Registered Social Worker with Post-graduate training in accreditation in NICE recognised modality for common mental disorders
  • Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registered Mental Health Nurse with Post-graduate training and accreditation in NICE recognised modality for common mental disorders
  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) or British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) registered psychotherapist with Post-graduate training and accreditation in NICE recognised modality for common mental disorders
