Main DutiesWe are seeking a Consultant in Chronic Pain Management with an interest in Anaesthesia to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will share the caseload, facilities, and trainee grade support with our existing consultants.
The post is a whole-time position, offering 10 PAs and 8.5 programmed activities (PAs), with 1.5 SPA. Our multidisciplinary team provides a range of Pain Management interventions, including seminars, groups, individual sessions/treatment, and Pain Management Programmes.
We have a team of 4 Pain Consultants, 1 Consultant Clinical Psychologist, 3 Highly Specialist Physiotherapists, 2 Nurses, and substantial admin support. Our team participates in 3 MDT streams: Chronic Pain, Cancer and Palliative Care, and Complex Spine.

Our staff come from diverse backgrounds, with over 400 on apprenticeship programmes and a commitment to being a London Living Wage employer. We operate from two main sites, King George Hospital and Queen's Hospital, with two of the busiest emergency departments in London.
We are introducing an electronic patient record next year, making it easier for staff and better for patients. We are also investing in new state-of-the-art theatres and Community Diagnostic Centres.

Essential criteria include MB ChB, MBBS or equivalent, Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, and a Certificate of completion of training (CCT) or equivalent by date of interview.
Desirable criteria include a Higher Medical Degree (MD or MSc), six months of advanced general training, and post-CCT experience in chronic pain medicine.
