About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Research Fellow to contribute to the conservation and management of Victoria's forests as we transition from forest harvesting to management for environmental and biocultural values.

You will have the opportunity to influence Victoria's forest policy via empirical research and meaningful collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Significantly contribute to research relating to the regeneration of Victoria's forests, including management of projects and timely delivery of milestones.
  • Lead publications in peer-reviewed journals and reports.
  • Disseminate research findings to diverse audiences.
  • Identify funding opportunities and prepare research proposals for submission to external funding bodies.
Requirements
  • PhD in forest ecology or environmental science, or a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to expertly apply quantitative research methodologies including experience using the R statistical software environment.
  • A record of contributions in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, conference papers, and presentations.
